Privacy Policy

TLDR: there are no visitor accounts, no ad trackers, and nothing to sell. The only personal information we hold is what someone typed into the get-listed form, and nearly all of it is meant to be published.

What you give us

If you fill in the get-listed form, we collect what you put in it:

• Your business or stage name.
• What you do, in your own words.
• Your Instagram and TikTok handles, and a Spotify link if you add one.
• Which payment methods you take.
• Anything you write in the last box.

We do not ask for your email, your phone number, your address, or your student ID. We have no way to take a payment and never ask for card details.

What we do with it

Most of it becomes your public page: your name, your description, your handles, your payment methods, and the city you work in. That is the point of the directory.

What you write in the last box is not published. It is sent to the person running Agora so they can act on it. Everything else is stored in our database whether or not the listing is approved, so we have a record of what was submitted.

Photos

The form takes no uploads. Photos reach us as Instagram messages, which means Instagram holds that conversation under its own policy. The images you send for your page get stored with our host and published on your listing.

What we collect automatically

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites. We see which pages are busy, not who you are. Our host also keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short window.

Cookies

Nothing is stored on your device, and there is no banner to dismiss.

Who else touches it

We do not sell or share your information. A few services handle it because they run the site:

• Vercel, which hosts the site and stores uploaded images.
• Neon, which runs the database submissions are saved to.
• Resend, which delivers the notification email when a submission comes in.

Links off the site

Every listing links to Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, or Discord. Once you click through, you are on their site under their privacy policy, not ours.

Getting your information changed or removed

Message @agorabsu and tell us what you want changed or taken down. We will do it, and we will delete the submission behind it if you ask. Search engines may hold a cached copy of a page for a while after it comes down, which is out of our hands.

Age

Agora is for Ball State students. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If that has happened, message us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top is when it last changed.
